The ongoing edition of the Big Bash League match between Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat witnessed a bizarre incident during the passage of the play.

Melbourne Renegades skipper Nick Maddinson was literally taken aback after the wind knocked the bails off and the left-handed batter started to walk off the pitch, presuming that he was out hit wicket in the first place.

However, the on-field umpires were not convinced with it as they told the batsman to wait until confirmed by the third umpire. The TV replay on the large screen showed that the southpaw tried to attempt a pull shot.

Meanwhile, there was a sudden gush of wind, forcing the bail to lose its balance on top of the stumps. Meanwhile, Brisbane Heat fielders already started celebrating the fall of the wicket.

However, the replays suggested that the wind played a big part in the incident as it was responsible for knocking the bail off the stump. Nick Maddinson was adjudged not out as he carried on with the game.

Maddinson was the pick of the batsmen as he chipped in with 87 off just 49 balls where he struck as many as 10 boundaries and three hits over the fence at a sensational strike rate of 177.55.
