Earlier, the experienced campaigner was picked for a price of Rs 50 lakh at the IPL 2023 mini-auction held in Kochi in late December 23, 2022. There were naysayers slamming the MI’s decision to go for Chawla as many considered that the leggie went past his prime. Needless to say, he silenced the critics and let his performance do the talking.
