The Ranji Trophy 2022 tournament got underway today, and Ajinkya Rahane is playing for the Mumbai cricket team in the competition. Rahane, who has struggled with his form in red-ball cricket over the last few months, has completed his ton for Mumbai in their tournament opener against the Saurashtra cricket team.

The Raji Trophy 2022 battle between Mumbai and Saurashtra is also a battle between Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara. Both players are immensely experienced, but they have failed to score big for the Indian Test cricket team in the last few matches. Due to that reason, some fans want them out of the squad.

Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara have a chance to revive their careers by playing well in the Ranji Trophy 2022. Rahane has taken a step in the right direction by playing a fantastic knock of 106 runs as of the 82nd over of the first innings.

Mumbai team is playing under the captaincy of former India U-19 team captain Prithvi Shaw. The Mumbai captain won the toss at the Narendra Modi Stadium and decided to bat first. Shaw opened the innings with Aakarshit Gomel, but both openers failed to get going.

Shaw was dismissed by Jaydev Unadkat after he scored only one run off 10 deliveries, whereas his opening partner Gomel returned to the dressing room after managing eight runs. Chetan Sakariya picked up the wicket of Gomel.

Sachin Yadav and Ajinkya Rahane stabilized the innings in the Ranji Trophy match, but Yadav failed to cross the 20-run mark. Sarfaraz Khan then joined hands with Rahane. Both batters have completed their tons. It seems Mumbai will post a big score on the board.
