The Lucknow Super Giants became the seventh team to be eliminated from IPL 2022 last night as they lost to the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator game of the playoffs. Only three teams, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans remain in IPL 2022 now. Athiya Shetty reacted to KL Rahul’s emotional post after his team’s exit from the tournament.

When the IPL 2022 Mega Auction ended, the fans felt that the Lucknow Super Giants will be one of the top contenders to win the trophy. However, they failed to deliver the goods when it mattered the most.

Captain KL Rahul started slow in a run-chase of 208 runs. At one stage, he was on 48 runs off 42 deliveries, and it seemed like the Royal Challengers Bangalore would win the match. However, Deepak Hooda, Rahul and Marcus Stoinis played a few attacking shots and kept the game alive. Eventually, when Rahul was on 79 runs off 57 deliveries, he handed a catch to Shahbaz Ahmed in the fine leg region.

The rest of the Lucknow Super Giants batters could not impress much after that as the team ended with 193/6 in their 20 overs and lost the match by 14 runs.
