However, all their efforts were to no avail when they locked horns with the England cricket team in the semis. England literally toyed with Team India with ease as they went on to win the game by 10 wickets.

Dinesh Karthik analyzes Ravichandran Ashwin’s performance in T20 World Cup and says Chahal would have done a lot more damage

The senior wicketkeeper-batsman, Dinesh Karthik has now analyzed Ravichandran Ashwin’s performance in the showpiece event in Australia. According to him, Ravi Ashwin started the tournament well but didn’t end it well.

For the record, India’s veteran off-spinner bagged as many as six wickets from five matches at an average of 25.83. He was not that economically good in some games as he was belted by the batters with ease.

Ravi Ashwin had a pretty expensive economy of 8.15. Overall, Ashwin had a decent performance in the T20 World Cup and moreover, he was the one who hit the winning runs in the form of a boundary against Pakistan in the Super 12.

According to Dinesh Karthik, Yuzvendra Chahal would have inflicted a lot more damage on the opposition teams had he been selected in the first place. In fact, Ravi Bishnoi earned the call-up ahead of the Chahal.

However, the team management went with Ravi Ashwin as the first-choice spinner, thus leading to a Chahal vs Ashwin debate. While speaking to Cricbuzz, Dinesh Karthik said, Yuzvendra Chahal would have been an interesting choice.
