Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka has made his presence count in the first two games of the three-match T20I series against Team India. During the first T20I match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Dasun Shanaka led the attack by example in the run-chase.
He scored 45 off 27 balls where he chipped in with 3 boundaries and 3 sixes to his name at a phenonemal strike rate of 166.67 before falling prey to Umran Malik’s brilliant delivery in the T20I opener.
Meanwhile, the second T20I is taking place in Pune as Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first. Sri Lankan cricket team ended up posting a humongous total as they aggregated 206/6 in their quota of 20 overs.
Dasun Shanaka scores yet another crucial knock against Team India
Talking about Dasun Shanaka’s performance in the second T20I, he took the bowling attack to the cleaners with relative ease as he simply toyed with the opposition bowlers like a hot knife through butter.
In the process, he went on to score 54 off just 22 deliveries. He constructed his innings with the help of two fours and six hits over the fence at a staggering strike rate of 254.55.
Apart from him, Sri Lanka’s wicketkeeper-batsman Kusal Mendis also looked good for his 52 off 31 balls with the help of three fours and four hits over the fence. Charith Asalanka scored 37 off 19 balls including 4 fours.
On the other end of the spectrum, Umran Malik accounted for three dismissals to his name. It was also the first time that he has bagged three wickets in his T20I career.
