The former Indian opener Aakash Chopra, who is generally very active on social media, came up with a savage reply to a Pakistani actress on Twitter after India’s 66-run victory over Afghanistan in one of the group games of T20 World Cup 2021.
The actress named Sehar Shinwari tried to tell Chopra that the India Vs Afghanistan match was a fixed match as India dominated the entire match extremely easily. Chopra was never going to take it just like that. He made sure he let the Pakistani actress know she couldn’t get away with such disrespectful remarks on a public platform.
Aakash Chopra quoted Sehar’s tweet with a popular saying, “If only closed minds came with closed mouths”. It was a perfect reply to a tweet that was based purely on assumptions.
Sehar Shinwari was not the only Pakistani who made fixing allegations at India’s performance, there were quite a few fans and celebrities from Pakistan who subtly hinted that the match was fixed.
Pakistani fans found it hard to believe India scored 210 runs against Afghanistan
The only reason for Pakistani fans and celebrities to label such allegations was the fact that Pakistan could score only 148 runs in 19 overs against Afghanistan despite being the most in-form team in the T20 World Cup 2021, while India, despite struggling in the tournament so far, piled on 210 runs in 20 overs against an almost similar Afghanistan attack.

The victory against Afghanistan didn’t just keep India in the tournament, it also shot their net run rate (NRR) up and put them in a position where they can fancy their chances of advancing further in the tournament if Afghanistan beats New Zealand, as in that scenario three teams will be levelled at 6 points each and the semi-final qualification will be determined by NRR.
The scenario can, however, change if one of Scotland or Namibia pulls off an upset and beats a big team. But, the possibility of that happening, particularly on the slow pitches of the UAE, is not that high.
