Meanwhile, England’s most experienced fast bowler, Stuart Broad revealed the reason why the last Ashes series was not a real Ashes series in the first place. Stuart Broad who has taken 576 wickets including 19 fifers in Test cricket further came up with a definition of Ashes cricket by adding that it is an elite sport with lots of devotion and cricketers at the top of their game.
However, Stuart Broad didn’t feel enthusiastic about the last time’s Ashes owing to the COVID19 restrictions. He even further labelled it as the void series. It remains to be seen which team will win the Ashes this time around. In the previous meeting, Australia retained the Ashes by winning the series by 4-1.
In terms of the overall head-to-head record, Australia have won more Ashes Tests when compared to England. The Three Lions have won 140 of the 340 games, compared to England’s 108 wins.
It is also worth noting that Australia also have the upper hand in terms of the Ashes series won. Aussies have won the Ashes on 34 occasions as compared to England who won on 32 occasions.
Stuart Broad said, "last Ashes series wasn't real Ashes. The definition of Ashes cricket is an elite sport with lots of passion and players at the top of their game. Nothing about that series was high-level performance because of COVID19 restrictions. It was a void series".
