Not long ago, Karachi Kings locked horns with Peshawar Zalmi in the eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League. Ahead of the match, Karachi Kings’ fast bowler Mohammad Amir made the headlines after he came up with a shocking statement about Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam.

Ahead of the game, the left-arm pace bowler stated that bowling to Babar Azam was quite the same as facing a tailender. While speaking to a local media channel, ARY News, Babar Azam said his job is to take wickets and help win games for the team.

Speaking on the same lines, he echoed that bowling to Babar Azam or a tailender batting at No.10 will be the same. His remarks didn’t go well with some of Babar Azam’s fans as they slammed Amir for making such an unusual statement.

In the same game, Amir was visibly frustrated with himself for his poor bowling. He vented his frustration by angrily throwing the ball in the direction of Babar Azam soon after Babar flicked Amir’s ball for a boundary.

Meanwhile, during a recent interview with Cricket Pakistan, the Pakistan skipper, Babar Azam was asked about his duel with Amir during the PSL match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi.

However, the Peshawar Zalmi captain came up with a fitting response while breaking the silence on his duel with Amir. He stated that he doesn’t really invest too much time or energy on tussle with opposition players as he simply focuses on his own batting.

Babar Azam further added that one can show aggression on the field, which is quite natural for any cricketer. At the same time, he also added that he lets his bat do the talking.
