Saurashtra skipper Jaydev Unadkat recently made a comeback to the national cricket team after twelve long years as he played only his second Test match in his Test career.

He marked his presence against the Bangladesh cricket team in Dhaka wherein he took three wickets in the game. In fact, Unadkat couldn’t play the Test opener in Chattogram owing to a delay in the visa.

The left-arm paceman also stressed the fact that he is not thinking of a Test spot for the four-match Test series against the Australian cricket team, starting from February 9 in Nagpur. He clearly stated that he does not expect things.

Jaydev Unadkat scripts history in Ranji Trophy

Meanwhile, the southpaw etched his name into the record books after he became the first bowler to take a hat-trick in the first over in the Ranji Trophy tournament.

On the other hand, former Indian bowler, Irfan Pathan was the first bowler to bag a hat-trick in the first over of Test cricket. He accomplished the feat against the Pakistan cricket team in Karachi in 2006.

Talking about Unadkat’s record, he achieved the feat against the Delhi cricket team at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot. The southpaw took his first wicket by getting rid of Dhruv Shorey for a golden duck.

He made a complete mess of the batter’s stumps and after which, he dismissed Vaibhav Rawal for a golden duck. Unadkat was a wicket away from bagging a hat trick and much to everyone’s surprise, he accomplished the feat.

He went on to dismiss Delhi skipper, Yash Dhull to bag his hat trick in the first over of Ranji Trophy. At the time of writing this article, Delhi cricket team scored 100 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Saurashtra skipper Jaydev Unadkat was the pick of the bowlers as he accounted for six dismissals so far.
