Scoring a fifty or a hundred against the opposition is every batsman’s dream. It is due to the fact that scoring valuable or big knocks would evidently beef up the batting average.
In the present era, senior cricketers of top teams have switched gears when it mattered the most. As a result, it has helped the teams post humongous totals. A team gets largely benefits when a batsman scores a ton.
Among the active cricketers, the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Babar Azam, Joe Root, Kane Williamson, David Warner, Steve Smith and others have often led the batting attack by example for their respective teams.
Virat Kohli tops the list in terms of most centuries scored in international cricket
When it comes to scoring centuries across all three formats, Virat Kohli tops the list in terms of most centuries scored in international cricket. The former Indian captain is playing the sport at a high level.
Notably, he is entirely in a different league because he has been statistically very impressive in his numbers. India’s run-scoring machine recently ended his century drought against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022.
In fact, it was his maiden T20I century and it was his 71st international century. Kohli scored 27 centuries in Tests, 43 centuries in ODIs and 1 century in T20Is.
On the other side of the coin, Joe Root, David Warner, Steve Smith and Rohit Sharma come next on the list in terms of most centuries scored in international cricket.
Joe Root scored 44 centuries in international cricket (28 centuries in Tests, 16 centuries in ODIs). David Warner also has scored 44 tons across three formats (24 centuries in Tests, 19 centuries in ODIs and 1 century in T20Is).
On the other hand, Steve Smith scored 41 centuries in international cricket (28 centuries in Tests and 12 centuries in ODIs). Rohit Sharma also scored 41 tons across formats (8 centuries in Tests, 29 centuries in ODIs and 4 centuries in T20Is).

Kohli scored only 1 100 in last 3 years. Still he is way ahead with 30 100s. Imagine if he scored at least 5 or 6 100s in last 3 years https://t.co/vOCrvMyjhB pic.twitter.com/DRotPcdEEO
