Rohit Sharma and Co were totally clueless in terms of the bowling attack during the important semi-final clash of T20 World Cup against the England cricket team at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.
Batting first, the Men in Blue failed to cash in on the chances to score well in the powerplay overs. They ended up scoring around six runs an over, which was not at all enough for them in the first place.
As usual, Virat Kohli continued his rich form by scoring a half-century. However, it was Hardik Pandya who changed the entire complexion of the innings by playing a fearless brand of cricket.
Hardik Pandya scored 63 off 33 balls with the help of 4 boundaries and 5 sixes before getting dismissed in the form of a hit wicket as he accidentally nudged the stumps with his leg in the last ball of the 20th over.
Some retirements might be coming after India’s defeat against England: Sunil Gavaskar
In reply, England cricket team largely benefitted from the rock-solid foundation laid by Jos Buttler and Alex Hales. The duo took the game away from the opposition by scoring 170 runs for the first wicket and aced the run-chase.
England beat India by 10 wickets with four overs to spare. Meanwhile, following India’s exit from the tournament, Sunil Gavaskar added that some retirements might be coming.
The former Indian cricketer reckons that some players in the Indian cricket team are in the mid 30’s. As a result, he feels some changes might take place at Indian cricket soon.
