There have always been rumors and speculations of a possible rift between the two biggest Indian cricketing superstars, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, and the way the transition of captaincy happened between the duo towards the end of last year, only fuelled the rumors even further.
But, the two players have always had a mutual admiration for each other and it has never happened in the public eye that either Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli has said anything controversial about each other. The two of them have only had good things to say about each other’s game.
Recently, Virat was in an exclusive conversation with Star Sports, the official broadcaster of ICC, and when he was asked which player, he thinks, has got the best pull shot in the world, the former Indian captain took Rohit’s name immediately and said nobody in the world plays that shot better than Rohit.
Rohit Sharma can play the pull shot off even short of good length balls
Rohit Sharma has been dismissed playing the pull shot quite a few times in the last couple of years, but it remains his trademark shot because he has the ability to put the ball into the stands even when the length of the ball is not that short. Rohit can pick the ball up from short of good length region as well and can swivel-pull it over square leg.
Virat Kohli himself also has a very decent pull shot, but it’s different from the pull shot of Rohit because Virat looks to roll his wrists over the ball and play it into the ground, while Rohit looks to go up and over and clear the boundary ropes with the pull.
