It has been a while since RCB had a Karnataka player consistently in the playing XI. However, seeing the talent on display in recent months, RCB must go for a homegrown name. 1) Chethan LR
The talented batter was the costliest player at the auctions. This shows the kind of talent he has and how all the teams rate him. He did not disappoint as he ended as one of the best batters in the competition with a very good strike rate.
Chethan is a wicket-keeper batter and RCB needs someone to replace Dinesh Karthik in the XI. If not as a first-choice option, Chethan can surely be a good backup for the same.
2) Abhinav Manohar
Abhinav Manohar is one of the top batters from KSCA Maharaja Trophy 2024 whom RCB could sign in IPL 2025 Auctions. If Gujarat Titans do not retain him, there would be a number of teams that would want the player in their XI. He smacked sixes for fun in the recent league.
A power-hitter, Abhinav is especially dangerous against spin. RCB would need such a player to partner with Rajat Patidar in the middle overs. Considering he can also offer something with the ball, Abhinav should be one of the priorities for RCB.
3) KL Shrijith
A left-handed middle-order batter who can keep wickets is rare in the league. Barring Rishabh Pant, there is hardly any other local option available in this profile. This profile also fits RCB’s requirements perfectly. Hence, Krishnan Shrijith is on this list.
He can improve his strike rate but he has the skills to do that. For the future, he would be a very decent investment for RCB.
