India defeated Sri Lanka in the third encounter at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. With this, India managed to add yet another whitewash to its list of records. Incidentally, in the eight series that Rohit Sharma has captained India so far, five of them have been a whitewash. In this article, we take a look at Twitter reacted after Rohit Sharma leads India to yet another clean-sweep.

Rohit Sharma leads India to yet another clean-sweep

Unlike the second T20I, Sri Lanka could not post a big total in the final game. They reached 146 runs and although they took the early wicket of Rohit Sharma, it was not enough. Shreyas Iyer got his third consecutive fifty as India won the game by 6 wickets.

Rohit’s first assignment as a T20I skipper was back in 2017/18 against Sri Lanka. The Mumbai cricketer led the team to a whitewash in that tournament. When West Indies visited India in 2018/19, as well, the Indian opener helped India earn a clean sweep in the T20I series. Now, after he took over as the full-time captain of the team, India has white-washed New Zealand, West Indies and Sri Lanka. Hence, so far, Rohit has five white-washes to his name in eight series at the helm of affairs.

Twitter reacts to Rohit’s achievement

Twitter was obviously reactive to the sensational achievement by Rohit. Although he has won five IPL titles as a captain, there have always been small doubts if he could replicate the same success at the international level. Rohit has firmly put those doubts to rest with his style of captaincy. The opposition might have been on the weaker side but to maintain a clean slate, that too, on a consistent basis is a terrific accomplishment. In the section below, we take a look at what Twitter had to say about Rohit’s record:
