Amit Mishra is one of the leading wicket-takers in the Indian Premier League. The right-arm leg-spinner did an excellent job while playing for the Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals in his IPL career. However, none of the franchises bid for him in IPL 2022.
Fans should note that Mishra was a part of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League, and he took a four-wicket haul while playing for the Delhi Capitals against the Mumbai Indians team at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
He has a ton of experience under his belt, and his experience could have been crucial for one of the two new franchises as well. However, at the end of the IPL 2022 Auction, Amit remained unsold and he affirmed that he will make a comeback to the competition.
In a recent Twitter interaction with a fan, Amit gave an interesting response when asked to play for the Chennai Super Kings team in IPL 2022. Here’s what Amit replied to him:
“Sorry mate, Still two years younger for it.”

Amit Mishra is 39 years old now
According to official records, Mishra is 39 years old at the moment, so it seems that he is aiming to play for the Chennai Super Kings team when he is 41 years old. The probable reason behind Mishra’s reply is that CSK is famously known as Dad’s Army because the franchise backs the senior players.
Mishra is a hat-trick hero in the IPL with multiple hat-tricks to his name. In a recent interview, Virender Sehwag had shared a story from Mishra’s career where he asked to increase his salary after taking a hat-trick. Here’s what Sehwag had to say:
“I remember when he claimed his first hat-trick. I asked him what do you want and he said ‘Viru Bhai, please get my salary increased.”
