There were many promising Indian cricketers who went unsold at the recent auctions. Some of their names, despite being on the shortlist, never came up to go under the hammer. A few of these players could also be thinking about what they could do during April and May next year. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three unsold Indians who could opt to play in the County during IPL 2024.
1) Hanuma Vihari
Hanuma Vihari‘s name did not even come up in the auctions. The experienced cricketer had listed himself as an all-rounder for the auctions.
His Test career has also come to a halt. If he has to bring it back on track, he must do well in domestic tournaments. Doing brilliantly well in the County Championship could bring him back to the fold.
2) Sarfaraz Khan
Sarfaraz Khan went unsold in IPL 2024 Auctions. The Mumbai cricketer has been in the competition for a few years now. Despite getting sufficient chances, he was unable to make the best of it. Hence, his losing an IPL contract was always coming.
That said, on the other hand, Sarfaraz’s Test career could finally take off. He is doing well and it won’t be a surprise if he gets his debut soon. Hence, if he could get a chance in the County Championship, it would help him go a long way.
3) Pradosh Ranjan Paul
Pradosh Ranjan Paul is one of the unsold Indians who could opt to play in the County during IPL 2024. The youngster from Tamil Nadu scored a century while playing for India A recently. In the domestic circuit, he is considered a Test specialist.
Pradosh is someone who can keep wickets as well as offer some overs with the ball. He has high potential. Yes, getting a County contract for an uncapped cricketer is hard. But, B Sai Sudharsan got that last season. Hence, Pradosh could also try.
