Middle-Order plays an important role in the construction of any batting unit. Especially in the modern T20 era in which matchups play a huge role, it becomes really important for the middle-order to be at the top of the game. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams with the best middle order for the 2024 T20 World Cup.
1) South Africa
It is probably the best chance for the Proteas to lift an ICC title. The strength of the squad is the batting line-up and the middle-order can be considered as the best in the competition.
At No.3, Aiden Markram will control the innings. The rest of the slots will be occupied by David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen and Tristan Stubbs. All of them are in good form, especially Klaasen and Stubbs. Hence, it will be hard for the bowlers to get past them.
2) West Indies
West Indies is one of the teams with the best middle order for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Finally, West Indies has a chance to go all the way because their squad looks very balanced. The batting unit is looking to be in good shape for the co-hosts.
Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer will form the core of this middle-order. Rovman Powell and Shai Hope will operate at either ends of the left-handed duo. Andre Russell will be the floater and we can also have someone like Romario Shepherd come up depending on the game situation.
3) Australia
There could be a few chinks in the armour but on their day, Australia could be lethal in every department of the game. Especially in ICC tournaments, they are usually terrific.
Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell and Tim David will form the core of this middle-order. The likes of Matthew Wade, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis and Cameron Green will compete for the rest of the slots.
