The 2003 ODI World Cup was held between 9 February 2003 and 24 March 2003. For many fans of this generation, the 2003 ODI WC was probably the first memory of the game. Interestingly, a few cricketers who were born after this tournament might play in the upcoming edition. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players born after the 2003 ODI WC and might play in the 2023 ODI WC.

1) Dewald Brevis (South Africa) – Born on 29 April 2003

South Africa recently included Dewald Brevis for the first time in the T20I and the ODI squads. With the World Cup so near, the Proteas would surely have the teenager in the plans for the World Cup campaign.

He would anyways be a suitable fit for the side. Having played some IPL cricket already, the Indian conditions will not be new for him. He is good against spin and can himself offer a few overs with the ball. This makes him a solid contender to be a part of the squad.

2) Noor Ahmad (Afghanistan) – Born on 3 January 2005

Noor Ahmad is one of the popular players born after the 2003 ODI WC and might play in the 2023 ODI WC. One of the promising spinners in the game right now is Noor Ahmad.

A left-arm wrist-spinner, Noor will be a part of the Afghanistan side. In IPL 2023, he already showed his ability to trouble the batters. Probably the youngest player in the upcoming World Cup, Noor’s performance will be vital for the Afghans.

3) Shariz Ahmad (Netherlands) – Born on 21 April 2003

Hailing from Pakistan origin, the young leg-spinner was a part of the Netherlands squad that was in the World Cup qualifiers earlier this year. Since Shariz is a spinner, he is also likely to play in the World Cup.
