Usually, if a player is set to make his India debut, he must also be playing in the IPL. The India debut could be for any format but a player is expected to show his temperament already in the IPL. However, there are some players who are not having an IPL contract but could be playing for India in the next few weeks. On that note, here, we take a look at three players who could make India debut soon but do not have an IPL contract.

1) Sourabh Kumar

Uttar Pradesh spinner Sourabh Kumar was recently selected by India for the second Test against England. Since Ravindra Jadeja is not available, India needed an extra left-arm spin option and hence, Sourabh was selected.

It would not be a surprise if he makes his debut. Washington Sundar is not a great spinner in Tests and hence, if India is playing four spinners, Sourabh could play. Interestingly, he was unsold in the recent IPL 2024 Auctions.

2) Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan finally received his India call-up. He will be a part of the squad for the second Test against England. However, interestingly, he did not find a bidder in the IPL 2024 Auctions.

Not long ago, he was retained by RCB before the mega-auctions. Since then, Sarfaraz has failed to make full use of his chances and now, he does not have an IPL contract.

3) Abhimanyu Easwaran

Abhimanyu Easwaran is one of the players who could make their India debut soon but do not have an IPL contract. It has been a while since he was supposed to make his India debut. But, it is yet to happen for the Bengal cricketer.

Nevertheless, he could get a chance to make his debut if the likes of Shubman Gill continue to fail. However, he does not have a contract in the IPL and that could affect him in some way.
