3 players who could become Delhi Capitals’ next wicket-keeper if Rishabh Pant leaves the franchise

Rumours are that Rishabh Pant is set to leave Delhi Capitals before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. It is just not understandable why such reports have come up in the first place. An Indian, left-hander, middle-order batter, wicket-keeper, spin-basher and most importantly a captain. DC might need seperate cricketers to fill all these roles. The most difficult will be that of the wicketkeeper. Here, we take a look at the list of three players who could become Delhi Capitals’ next wicket-keeper if Rishabh Pant leaves the franchise.

1) Abishek Porel

If DC is letting go of Pant, they will surely retain Abishek Porel as the uncapped cricketer. A rising cricketer, to an extent, Porel fills the attributes needed out of a player who will replace Pant.

The West Bengal lad can operate as an opener and even has experience as a finisher. He ticks multiple boxes and importantly, he will cost just INR 4 Cr.

2) Tristan Stubbs

Tristan Stubbs is one of the players who could become Delhi Capitals’ next wicket-keeper if Rishabh Pant leaves the franchise. He is already in the team and DC could retain him in the first place.

A solid finisher, Stubbs is a genuine wicket-keeper. He will be the future of the outfit and can be a solid choice for the side. Yes, he is a foreigner but since he does some difficult roles, the extra rope can be given to him.

3) Ishan Kishan

If a big player like Pant is leaving the side, the team will want a player of a similar stature to replace him. It will be needed for multiple reasons, including that of brand value.

Ishan Kishan is yet to hit his peak but he can be a suitable replacement for Pant. There are captaincy skills in him and he could even take over from Pant in IPL 2025.
