Chennai Super Kings surprised all by winning IPL 2023. However, they need to be wary about the next season as they could slip up like they did in IPL 2022. The trade window would be a good opportunity for the management to improve the squad. They could have some targets in mind. On that note, here, we take a look at three players CSK can target in the IPL 2024 Trade Window.
1) Deepak Hooda – Lucknow Super Giants
Deepak Hooda is one of the players CSK can target in the IPL 2024 Trade Window. After a dismal IPL 2023, Deepak lost his place in the Indian Team. Not just that, he could even be released by LSG ahead of the upcoming auctions. As we all know, Deepak is a good player of spin. He is currently short on confidence and he might need a different franchise to express himself freely. For CSK, he would be a great replacement for Ambati Rayudu. Plus, Deepak also offers right-arm off-spin bowling, something that no other local player can provide for CSK. Hence, he would be a top signing for them.
2) Sarfaraz Khan – Delhi Capitals
It would be a major coup if CSK can get the Mumbai cricketer on the side. Like Deepak Hooda, he is also an excellent player of spin. He just needs the right guidance to realize his potential. He would be a solid option to replace Rayudu for CSK. Apart from this, he is also a part-time keeper, something that CSK would like to have if MS Dhoni’s knee is not good during the campaign.
3) Kartik Tyagi – Sunrisers Hyderabad
CSK would surely need some reserves in the domestic pace-bowling department. While the management might back the likes of Deepak Chahar, sufficient depth is needed so that the franchise can be safe. In this regard, they can plan someone like Kartik Tyagi. The player is short of game time at SRH. He is someone with a high ceiling and MS Dhoni can help him achieve that. Hence, Tyagi moving to CSK would be a win-win for both the player and the franchise.
