3 players RCB could have picked instead of Alzarri Joseph

It was a surprise that Royal Challengers Bangalore spent INR 11.5 Cr on Alzarri Joseph as the lead foreign pacer. There were quite a few better options available in the market and they were all available for a cheaper price. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three players whom RCB could have picked instead of Alzarri Joseph in the IPL 2024 Auctions.

1) Lance Morris

The main concern with Joseph was his price. Had RCB got him at a lower price, he would have been a worthy signing. They did have a chance to pull off from the deal when the bid was increasing.

Lance Morris may not have so much experience in the T20 format compared to Alzarri. However, his attributes would have made him a good addition to the side.

2) Adam Milne

Adam Milne could have come at his base price had RCB gone for him. The Kiwi has pace, and bounce, is tall and can open the bowling, as well. However, Alzarri Joseph may not be the best bet with the new ball.

Milne also has experience playing for RCB before. He has operated for a while at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. This could have been useful for the side.

3) Matt Henry

Matt Henry is one of the players whom RCB could have picked instead of Alzarri Joseph in the IPL 2024 Auctions. If RCB was looking for a cheap replacement for Josh Hazlewood, they could have selected Matt Henry. The Kiwi is yet to find his feet in the T20 format but he is a skillful bowler and would have added value to the side.

Most importantly, he would have come at a cheap price, which would have helped the team improve the other areas of the side. Now, RCB might struggle to construct their bowling attack for the home games.
