Many felt that SRH would reach the playoffs in IPL 2025. However, that did not happen. It is a good wake-up call for the management. Here, we take a look at the list of three key changes SRH could make before the next season.
1) Handing over the captaincy to Abhishek Sharma
Pat Cummins failed as a bowler, and for a foreign player, SRH cannot afford this often. Also, Pat would anyways come with availability concerns. In this regard, now that Abhishek has gained experience in the IPL, it could be apt to make him the skipper of the side.
2) Hiring a proper all-rounder is one of the changes SRH could make before the next season
SRH has already done a few things right for the next season by hiring someone like Harsh Dubey. They could also consider a few foreign options. Especially if the likes of Cameron Green and Ben Stokes are available, they would be ideal for the franchise.
3) Investing in a new-ball bowler like Shivam Mavi
SRH is desperate for a powerplay specialist. Shami was in poor form and Pat Cummins’ major tasks was in the middle overs. Hence, someone like Shivam Mavi will be good for the franchise. If he does well, it would be a jackpot.
