Chennai Super Kings have set aside a strong core for IPL 2025. It is now all about filling those gaps and improving the squad for the next seasons. They will need to rely on some top-class Indian cricketers to further improve the strength of the squad. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Indians with a base price of INR 2 Cr whom CSK could sign in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.
1) K Khaleel Ahmed
CSK is likely to move on from Deepak Chahar as the new-ball bowler. As per reports, the franchise wants a left-arm pacer, someone who can also complement Matheesha Pathirana well.
Hence, in this regard, CSK could target someone like Khaleel. Age and skill-wise, he fits the profile needed by CSK. Delhi Capitals could try to hire him again but they could be more interested in getting back Mukesh Kumar.
2) Washington Sundar
Washington Sundar is one of the Indians with a base price of INR 2 Cr whom CSK could sign in IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. As per reports, CSK is interested in getting one of the local boys – Washington Sundar or R Ashwin.
The team needs a domestic right-arm off-spinner. There are two options who have played a lot at Chepauk. Therefore, CSK could target one of them. Sundar could be the preferred option because of his current form in T20s and also his age. Hence, he is on this list.
3) Venkatesh Iyer
While the fans want Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra back in the team, CSK will also want a left-handed top-order Indian option. CSK usually goes for under-rated names and hence, it will not be a surprise if they really go hard for Venkatesh Iyer.
In the last two seasons, he has done a good a job at KKR. Despite playing at various batting slots, he has been able to adapt well. He could develop further as a bowler and this could be one of the projects for CSK, just like they did with Shivam Dube a few years ago.
