Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami, no other Indian pacer is likely to be retained. The auction dynamics may not allow a franchise to spend the retention cost on an Indian pacer. Hence, most of the Indian quick-bowlers will go under the hammer. It will be a good opportunity for Mumbai Indians to finally seal a good partner for Jasprit Bumrah. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Indian new-ball partners for Jasprit Bumrah MI can target in IPL 2025 Auctions.

Note: We have considered players who could be released by their respective outfits before the IPL 2025 Auctions.

1) K Khaleel Ahmed

In IPL 2022 Mega Auctions, MI was close to signing the Rajasthan pacer. However, Delhi Capitals signed the left-arm quick bowler.

He should be the ideal partner for Bumrah. With his attributes at the start of the innings, Bumrah can become more dangerous and vice-versa.

2) Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of the Indian new-ball partners for Jasprit Bumrah MI can target in IPL 2025 Auctions. The 34-year-old could be released by SRH and the franchise may not be able to afford to hire him back through RTM.

Having played together for India, the Bhuvi-Bumrah combination could be an instant click. Bhuvi can do the work with the new ball and is very much capable of an over at the death. With Bumrah at the other end, he can further improve his performance.

3) Yash Dayal

Yash Dayal was brilliant for RCB in IPL 2024. While his impressive aspect was his variations in the other phases, he had a disciplined show with the new ball.

If Bumrah can have such a partner with the new ball, the load will also be reduced on him. Yash has now worked on his slower ball variations which will help him in the middle and the final overs.
