Injury replacements are bound to happen in every season of IPL. This time around, there were quite a few prominent cricketers who did not get a bid at the auctions. There were a few well-known and shocking names, as well. It is not all done for these players. A few of them could be in line to make a comeback to the IPL as a replacement cricketer. Here, we take a look at the list of three Indian batters who could come back as replacement players in IPL 2025.
1) Mayank Agarwal
Mayank Agarwal has been in poor form in IPL for a while now. However, it was still shocking to see him go unsold because he had a base price of only INR 1 Cr and he is a very experienced cricketer. Therefore, it is not all over for him.
Teams such as LSG do not have a single designated Indian opener. If there is an opening in the team, surely, someone like Mayank could be in consideration. His experience will also add value to the young side.
2) Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw is one of the Indian batters who could come back as replacement players in IPL 2025. Not long ago, he was seen as the future of Indian cricket. In the last cycle, he was retained ahead of a Mega Auction.
Yes, the downfall has been steep but there is still time for Prithvi to make a comeback. It is just about respecting the game and executing a disciplined return to form. Some IPL teams could even have an eye on him.
3) Anmolpreet Singh
In the limited opportunities that he has got, Anmolpreet Singh has done a decent job. Yes, there is scope for improvement but he is one player who has the potential to do well.
Therefore, it will not be a surprise if a team takes the punt on him. Last season, he was a part of the SRH setup but did not get a lot of games.
