1) The management must drop Faf du Plessis
Dropping Faf du Plessis is one of the bold decisions RCB must take for the upcoming matches of IPL 2024. It is a big call to drop the captain of the side. However, if Faf is not at his best, it is good for both parties to have him out of the squad for a few games.
With respect to captaincy, one of Virat Kohli or Glenn Maxwell could take up the role. Will Jacks is a serious talent and he also provides a few overs with the spin. Hence, he would be the ideal choice to replace the South African veteran.
2) Use V Vyshak as the pinch-hitter
Against KKR, RCB saw live the kind of impact a pinch-hitter could have. With the batters struggling to score quick runs, RCB must explore this option, as well.
Vyshak bowled well against KKR. Hence, he could retain his spot in the next games. The management must also look to use his batting abilities. He is a powerful striker of the ball and can do well if given all the freedom.
3) Have Rajat Patidar as the opener
It would be a bold call to try Rajat Patidar when you have Faf, Green and Jacks in the squad. However, it needs to be noted that it is really important for RCB to get the best out of Rajat.
He is good against both pace and spin. Rajat can make good use of the field restrictions. Getting some quick runs in this phase would also help him gain some confidence.
