Rajasthan Royals have been struggling in IPL 2025. It all comes down to the underwhelming performance of the management at the auctions. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three benched players at other franchises who could have been useful at the Rajasthan Royals.
1) Shahbaz Ahmed
Not having a reliable Indian spinner has not helped RR. This has disturbed the balance of the side. At LSG, Shahabaz is not being used much. Someone like him would have been perfect for RR. He is an all-rounder, and hence, RR could have used an extra foreigner.
2) Washington Sundar is one of the benched cricketers who would have been useful at the Rajasthan Royals
At the price which he went, RR must have gone for Sundar. He is an upgrade over Maheesh Theekshana and reliable with the bat. At GT, Sundar is playing only when there are matchups. RR must look for a trade next season.
3) Jacob Bethell
Shimron Hetmyer is in poor form. Finishing games has been a problem for RR. While Jacob is not a proven customer, he is a good prospect. At the moment, RR does not even have a backup foreign batter. Someone like Jacob would have been a luxury in the team.
