India will have a T20I assignment against Bangladesh after the Test series. With a long Test season coming up, we could see one of the all-format players getting rested. In this regard, vice-captain Shubman Gill is reportedly set to be rested for this series. There will be a number of contenders to replace him. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two players who could selected for the Bangladesh T20I series if Shubman Gill is rested.
1) Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan is one of the players who could selected for the Bangladesh T20I series if Shubman Gill is rested. The Jharkhand man is well and truly back in form. Yes, it might be in a different format but he seems to have gained his confidence back.
While Abhishek Sharma is likely to replace Gill in the playing XI, Ishan Kishan could be a backup for both Abhishek and also the primary wicket-keeper. Ishan is young and he can further develop. He has had a few decent outings for India and it is too early to keep him completely out of the side.
2) Ruturaj Gaikwad
The CSK skipper was not selected for the Sri Lanka Tour. Nevertheless, the Maharashtra batter will be the best option for Team India if they want a right-left combination at the top of the order. Ruturaj himself is in fine form and deserves the opportunity in the playing XI.
Ruturaj provides balance and solidarity at the top, something which Shubman Gill also provides. With the inconsistent form that Gill is in the T20 format, the management will have to keep some backups ready. Ruturaj already has the experience to step up if needed. Therefore, he can be a choice for the side.
