RCB is known to not keep hold of some of their talented cricketers. Of course, due to the auction dynamics, it happens with every other team. However, the amount of talented cricketers whom RCB has released is actually high. At the same time, RCB has failed to spot the talent in some of their net bowlers. A few of them left the franchise, entered the auctions and found success at other teams. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two net bowlers at RCB who later found success at other franchises.
1) Akash Madhwal
Akash Madhwal was a hit for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023. In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Akash stepped up in the death overs and took a lot of wickets. He showed excellent variations and maturity, especially at the death.
However, he could not replicate the success in IPL 2024. Nevertheless, he is 30 and would still get a lot of chances to improve his skills and also exhibit it in the tournament. If MI gets a slot to retain uncapped cricketers, they could consider Akash’s name.
2) Chetan Sakariya
Chetan Sakariya is one of the net bowlers at RCB who later found success at other franchises. The Saurashtra man was initially with RCB. Then, he went to Rajasthan Royals and he did not take long to take a lot of wickets and cement his spot in the XI. In fact, within a few months, he also got to play for Team India.
That said, Chetan’s situation is not that great now. In IPL 2024, although he won the trophy for KKR, he did not play a single game. Before that, injury and form issues kept him mostly on the bench at Delhi Capitals. Nevertheless, with the Mega Auction coming up, Chetan will hope to secure a contract at a franchise where he gets to play.
