He has represented the South African cricket team in 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20Is. The former South African international scored 8765 runs at an average of 50.7 in Tests including 22 centuries and 46 fifties.

On the other hand, he scored 9577 runs at an average of 53.5 including 25 centuries and 53 half-centuries in One-Day Internationals. He scored 1672 runs in T20Is including 10 half-centuries.

1. Fastest century in ODIs

Scoring a century in the 50-over format is quite a task but scoring the fastest century in this format is indeed an extraordinary achievement. The former Proteas’ legendary batter took the cricket fraternity by storm by scoring the fastest century off just 31 balls.

He achieved the feat against the West Indies cricket team in an ODI at the Wanderers in 2015. He constructed his innings with the help of 16 sixes and 9 fours during his stay at the crease. AB de Villiers ended up scoring a scintillating 149 off 44 balls.

2. Fastest 150 in ODIs

AB de Villiers’ finest innings of his ODI cricket career came against West Indies in the ICC ODI World Cup 2015 held in Australia. He scored the fastest 150 in One-Day Internationals and it is one of the records that cannot be broken in future.

AB de Villiers accomplished the feat in just 64 balls. In fact, he scored the 100-run mark in just 52 deliveries before adding 50 more runs in the next 12 deliveries he faced. He remained unbeaten on 162 off 66 balls where he struck as many as 17 fours and 8 sixes.
