Aakash Chopra predicts the Ashes 2023 winner
England won the recent T20 World Cup. However, Australia is dominating the Englishmen in the ongoing ODI series. The likes of Steve Smith are doing well and this is all building up to the Ashes next year.
Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra has backed the Aussies to win the Ashes next year. He even said that Steve Smith will be the highest run-getter of the tournament. The Australian batter has anyways been the best batter in the recent Ashes competitions.

England is a slowly improving team in the longer format. Especially under Brendon McCullum, they have been terrific. It is too early to rule them out and also, for the Aussies, the batting line-up has the likes of Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne but rest of the spots are not exactly great at the moment.
An important tournament for England
England has been poor in Test cricket in recent years. That said, after the appointment of Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes, things have changed for the Englishmen. They are winning tournaments on the trot but the biggest challenge for them at home will be the Ashes next year.
The last Ashes was an embarrassment for England. They lost miserably and that triggered many changes for the team. Even when they hosted the tournament a few years ago, too, England could not put up a great display. Nevertheless, the current group of players are doing well and the management will hope that they will come well. If they do well in that tournament, too, England will be the best Team on the planet, with the ODI World Cup and the T20 World Cup also with them.
