Royal Challengers Bangalore are locking horns with Punjab Kings in the 27th game of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. Meanwhile, the game is currently being held at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

Punjab Kings won the toss and chose to bowl first. Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore posted 174 for the loss of four wickets in their allotted quota of 20 overs.

Faf du Plessis was the pick of the batters for RCB as he chipped in with 84 off 56 balls where he struck five fours and five hits over the fence at a strike rate of 150. Notably, he became the first batter to score 300 runs in IPL 2023.

Moreover, this was his 29th half-century in the history of the IPL and his fourth IPL fifty this season. Virat Kohli also brought up his fourth fifty of this season by scoring 59 off 47 balls including five fours and a six.

Just ahead of the game between RCB and PBKS, Glenn Maxwell reserved the highest respect for Virat Kohli by labelling him as the GOAT of the Indian Premier League.

Meanwhile, he failed to live up to his reputation while playing against Punjab Kings as he was dismissed for a golden duck off Harpreet Brar’s bowling in the second ball of the 17th over.
