In what was another master class innings, Virat Kohli yet again stepped up for his side and helped them post a good total on the board. Asked to bat first, India lost skipper Rohit Sharma for just 2 runs.
But after that, it was Kohli’s show as he set the stage on fire and smashed unbeaten 63 runs. He first stitched a crucial partnership with KL Rahul, who scored a fluent half-century, and then acted as a great support to Suryakumar Yadav, who played a cameo of 30 runs.
But once both Rahul and Suryakumar were back in the hut, Kohli took the charge and smashed Bangladesh bowlers all over the park. In a ground, that he loves to bat, the former Indian skipper batted till the very end and helped India post a total of 184 runs on the board.
In his innings of 63 runs, Kohli scores 8 fours and 1 six and batted with a strike rate of 145.5 and made sure that his team end up with a good total. With this knock, he also became the leading run-getter in the tournament with 220 runs at 220 average with 3 fifties in 4 innings.
