Indian skipper Rohit Sharma kick-started the new calendar year on a high by letting his bat do the talking in the first ODI against Sri Lanka at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.

The right-handed batter who was out of form in international cricket rose from the ashes and scored his 47th ODI fifty in the ODI series opener. After scoring his fifty, he grew from strength to strength and also gave us impressions that he would be scoring his 30th ODI century.
