“We Don’t Even Think We’re Competing With Each Other”- Ishan Kishan Opens Up On His Brotherly Bond With Rishabh Pant
Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant are two of the top young cricketers in India right now. Both came into the limelight during their U-19 days and currently they are playing together for the senior Indian cricket team. Pant is currently the captain of the Delhi Capitals team, while Kishan was the most expensive player at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
Both are wicket-keeper batters. Interestingly, both are left-handed batters and can bat in top-order and middle-order. Since they have similar roles, it is natural that there is a competition between the two players for a spot in the national squad, but because of the friendship between the two players, they never thought about competing against each other.
Pant and Ishan are very close friends off the field, and in a recent interview with Times of India, the latter reflected on the same as he said:
“Never once has it crossed my mind that I want his place and I can assure you, that’s been the case with him too. And most importantly, when we are in the middle of our cricket routines, we don’t even think we’re competing with each other.”
