Back in those days, fans used to pin their hopes on Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and VVS Laxman when the team is in dire circumstances.

When the Indian cricket team were in desperate need for runs, the aforementioned names managed to rose to the occasion and catered to the needs of the team when it really mattered the most.

However, these players have already retired. In today’s scenario, the fans have pinned their hopes on Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, the fab three of India’s batting unit.

Sadly, Shikhar Dhawan is currently not part of the Indian set-up. However, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma often led the batting attack, more often than not. Earlier, Virat Kohli was going through a dark patch of his career.

Virat Kohli couldn’t able to stage a comeback in a gap of three years as he didn’t score even a single century in international cricket. Even though he tried his best, he couldn’t convert it into a triple-digit score.

Needless to say, he eventually broke the shackles and ended his century drought in the Asia Cup 2022 in the United Arab Emirates. Virat Kohli scored his maiden T20I century against Afghanistan, which was his 71st international century.
