Chennai Super Kings‘ opener Devon Conway has made a name for himself with his excellent performances for the New Zealand cricket team. Born in South Africa, Conway moved to New Zealand for cricketing opportunities and has enjoyed much success so far. Thanks to his brilliant batting performances, Conway earned a contract from the Chennai Super Kings at the IPL 2022 Auction.
While Devon Conway could not impress much initially, he has received another chance to prove himself tonight against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Conway had been to South Africa recently for a few days to get married. Since IPL 2022 is on and he had to join Chennai Super Kings soon, Conway only had a short honeymoon of one day.
Speaking with the host broadcasters ahead of the match between the Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad, Conway was asked about his honeymoon, where he said:
“Unfortunately, we only had a one day honeymoon break, that was the day after the wedding and then I had to fly out early morning the next day.”
She is not with me now: Devon Conway says his wife did not join him in CSK bio-bubble
All 10 squads are in bio-bubbles for IPL 2022. Most of the players have their family members with them, but Conway’s wife has decided to stay back in South Africa. Revealing if she has come to India with him, Conway added:
“Unfortunately, she is not with me now, she is going to spent a couple of extra weeks in South Africa, just spend some time with family and friends and then straight through to New Zealand.”
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to field first against Chennai Super Kings at the MCA Stadium in Pune. Devon has opened the innings for the Chennai Super Kings along with IPL 2021 Orange Cap winner Ruturaj Gaikwad.
