Liam Livingstone won the hearts of cricket fans for playing one of the best knocks of his IPL career. He almost guided the team to a victory but in the end, the Delhi Capitals bowlers managed to keep things tight.

Delhi Capitals notched up a thriller win over the Punjab Kings in the 64th match at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. Delhi Capitals were already knocked out of the IPL 2023 playoffs race.

However, they have been too keen to play as party poppers. They have well and truly inflicted damage on Punjab Kings, in what was certainly a dagger to the hearts of the players.

Batting first, Delhi Capitals posted a colossal total of 213 for the loss of two wickets in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Rilee Rossouw top-scored with 82 off 37 balls including 6 fours and 6 sixes.

Prithvi Shaw also played pretty well as he scored his first fifty in IPL 2023. He scored 54 off 38 balls including seven fours and a six. In response, Punjab Kings did come close to the target but ended up falling short in the run-chase.

Delhi Capitals got the better of Punjab Kings by 15 runs. Liam Livingstone did make a real case for himself in the run-chase as he nearly guided the team to a sensational win.

However, in the end, Delhi Capitals had the last laugh in the battle. Liam Livingstone scored 94 off 48 balls with the help of five fours and nine sixes.
