“Chetan Sharma sting operation” was the phrase that constantly kept doing the rounds on the internet. He echoed that Rohit Sharma was the one who supported Virat Kohli in a rough patch.

Besides that, he added that Kohli lied that Sourav Ganguly didn’t stop him from quitting the T20I captaincy in a sting operation. Chetan Sharma’s remarks on the Kohli-Ganguly saga went viral on the internet.

He also spoke about why Virat Kohli was stripped of ODI captaincy. Talking about the same, he said, the Indian team management wanted only one white-ball captain. This is the reason why Kohli was stripped of ODI captaincy.

Chetan Sharma spoke too much: BCCI source

Meanwhile, a source from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), while speaking to the news agency, PTI, added that Chetan Sharma spoke too much during a sting operation as he revealed the activities that happened behind the scenes at Indian cricket.

The source further added that none of the top Indian players talk to the national chief selector in the first place. The source also further questioned whether has anyone seen Chetan Sharma speak to Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma publicly in training.

The source said that no one is even bothered to speak to Chetan Sharma. Currently, Rohit Sharma is the captain of the Indian cricket team. However, the BCCI wants Rohit Sharma to focus on the Test and ODI setup keeping the ICC WTC final and the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup.

Hardik Pandya has been appointed the T20I captain since Rohit Sharma is not in the scheme of things at the moment. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and Co took a 1-0 lead in the BGT series against Australia. They won the first game by an innings and 132 runs.
