In the sport of cricket, it is common for a player’s form to begin to decline after they cross the 30-year mark; however, this has not been the case with James Anderson thus far. Anderson, who is 40 years old, bowled a magnificent delivery on Saturday during England’s Test match against South Africa at Old Trafford. The delivery was able to clean up Dean Elgar in spectacular fashion.

After suffering a humiliating loss in the first Test, England bounced back strongly against South Africa in the second match, which took place at Old Trafford. At the time this article was written, the team captained by Dean Elgar was reeling at 88/3 in the second innings, still behind by 176 runs in their attempt to force England to bat again. Both Keegan Petersen and Rassie van der Dussen were on the field, with the former tallying 20 and the latter 14.

James Anderson bowled a magnificent delivery to rattle Dean Elgar’s stumps

On Saturday, the English players and spectators alike cheered wildly when James Anderson bowled a magnificent ball that led to the dismissal of Elgar for 11 runs. In the 13th over of South Africa’s innings, Anderson produced a back-of-a-length ball that nipped away from the batter. This is when the incident took place. Elgar’s attempt to remain on the line resulted in him losing out on the required length of the ball, which caused it to go on to rattle the off stump.

After England lost their wicket, Anderson, along with the rest of the team, seemed overjoyed.
