Impact Player Rule has allowed many of the veterans to find a way to become relevant again in the IPL. The likes of Amit Mishra and Mohit Sharma enjoyed the benefits of this rule in IPL 2023. Some other players could be involved in the forthcoming campaign. Here, we take a look at the list of three legends who could be used as an Impact Player in the upcoming IPL 2024.

1) MS Dhoni

Having stepped down as the captain of Chennai Super Kings, the role of MS Dhoni will be purely as a wicket-keeper batter in IPL 2024. Considering his age and his knee issues, it will be interesting to see in what capacity MS Dhoni will feature in the upcoming season.

It would not be a surprise if he featured as an Impact Player in IPL 2024. Last season, Shivam Dube was used as the Impact Player whenever CSK used to bat second. Yes, MS Dhoni might be needed as a help for Ruturaj Gaikwad and as a keeper. However, depending on his fitness, it won’t be a surprise if he is only a batter in IPL 2024.

2) Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is one of the legends who could be used as an Impact Player in the upcoming IPL 2024. Rohit Sharma also has the experience of being an Impact Player in IPL 2023. This could become more regular in IPL 2024.

Hardik Pandya already has enough experience as a skipper. Hence, he might not be in the need of too many inputs from Rohit. The Indian skipper is not the quickest on the field and if MI is batting second, he could come on in only in the second innings to open the batting.

3) Ishant Sharma

When we talk about the Indian Premier League, we may not exactly term Ishant as a legend. However, having played over 100 Tests for India, he is certainly a legendary Indian cricketer.

At Delhi, though, Ishant’s role could be limited. He is good with the new ball and he could be used only in that phase. This will also allow Rishabh Pant to be flexible with Anrich Nortje at the other phases of the innings.
