Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was last seen donning the national outfit during the second ODI against the Bangladesh cricket team in Chattogram. He picked up an untimely injury on his thumb while taking a catch at slip.

The ball went on to hit the stalwart’s thumb and felt discomfort right after the injury. As a result, he walked off the field to get some assistance from the medical team and was also sent to the hospital in Mirpur.

The Indian skipper had many stitches on his thumb and also took a couple of injections before returning to the stadium. During the run-chase, Rohit Sharma showed a lot of intent by coming out to bat at No.9.

The Indian skipper won the hearts of the cricket fraternity by showing grit and determination to play for the national cricket team. He took time to get settled at the crease and he got going, there was no stopping him.

Meanwhile, India’s fast bowler Umran Malik, while speaking to News24 Sports echoed that Rohit Sharma still went on to bat despite having several stitches on his hand.

Umran Malik said that Rohit Sharma put up a great fight and went on to score a half-century. He scored a quickfire fifty off 27 balls where he nearly pulled off one of the greatest-ever ODI wins in Indian cricket history.

When 12 runs were required off the last two balls, Rohit Sharma hammered a six off Mustafizur Rahman to reduce the equation to 6 runs off the last ball. However, Mustafizur pitched in a searing yorker to help the Tigers seal a 5-run win over India.

Umran Malik said it was brilliant when Rohit Sharma was playing those pull shots. Rohit Sharma has recovered from his injured thumb and will be next seen in action for the first ODI against Sri Lanka on January 10.
