It was also their first-ever home game after quite a long time. Despite reeling at 89/5 in 12 overs, the likes of Shardul Thakur and Rinku Singh turned things around and put the team in a commanding position.

Shardul Thakur played the best innings of his IPL career as he pitched in with a quickfire fifty off just 20 balls. He ended up scoring 68 off 29 balls where he slammed nine fours and three sixes to his name.

At a certain stage, KKR never looked like posting a decent total on the board. However, the likes of Shardul Thakur and Rinku Singh dominated the proceedings and added a vital 103-run partnership.

In response to KKR’s total, RCB did show positive signs at the start. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis added 44 runs for the opening partnership before things started to collapse for RCB when KKR spinners spun the web at the right time.

RCB ran through a batting collapse and were nowhere close to chasing down the total as they ended up getting bowled out for 123 runs. RCB lost the game by 81 runs.

Meanwhile, popular commentator, Harsha Bhogle took to his official Twitter handle and reacted to RCB’s shocking performance against KKR. Harsha Bhogle tweeted, “You never can tell in our sport! Who would have imagined this! #KKRvRCB”
