Sunrisers Hyderabad haven’t really provided the right spark in their approach this season. In the previous edition, they failed to operate as a team and missed out on qualifying for the playoffs by finishing eighth on the points table.
Talking about their performances this season, they haven’t switched gears in the highly-competitive tournament. They lost to Rajasthan Royals by a big margin of 72 runs at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad in the fourth match of IPL 2023.
Later on, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost to Lucknow Super Giants in the 10th match of the IPL. KL Rahul and Co beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
However, Sunrisers Hyderabad eventually opened their account with a win over Punjab Kings in the 14th match of the IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the game by eight wickets. Aiden Markram and Co stuck with the same winning template as they won the next game against Kolkata Knight Riders by 23 runs at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 14 runs
Sunrisers Hyderabad locked horns with Mumbai Indians at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. SRH skipper Aiden Markram won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first, Mumbai Indians posted 192 for the loss of five wickets in their designated quota of 20 overs. Cameron Green top-scored with an unbeaten 64* off 40 balls including six fours and two sixes.
In response, Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a miserable start to the game as they lost two wickets inside five overs. After that, they didn’t really recover as they ended up losing the game. Arjun Tendulkar conceded only five runs in the last over when SRH required 20 runs in 6 balls. Besides that, he also took his maiden IPL wicket.
