Andhra Pradesh skipper Hanuma Vihari won the hearts of the cricket fraternity after he put up a great fight by batting with a fractured wrist in the quarter-final clash against Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy tournament.
On Day 1, Hanuma Vihari locked horns with Avesh Khan’s bouncer and the batter ended up injuring his wrist in the follow-through, which made things quite complicated for him.
He tried his best in terms of swinging the bat but couldn’t get the proper connection as well. This is why he decided to walk off the field on 16 runs and sought medical assistance. He was further sent to the hospital for scans.
The scan reports confirmed that the Indian star fractured his wrist. Despite the fact that he got injured, he went out to bat for the team. He went on to score eleven more runs with his broken arm.

In what was a courageous act by Vihari, the right-handed batter, for the first time in his career had to come up with a plan to play the game. As a result, he turned left-handed batter against Madhya Pradesh.
Vihari ended up scoring 27 runs before he was trapped for leg before wicket off Saransh Jain’s delivery. Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh skipper opened up the reason why he turned left-handed batter against Madhya Pradesh.
He further added that when his team started to lose wickets, he got the idea to try something different at that time, which is why he tried to bat left-handed. Vihari also echoed that any runs collected would have mattered the most.
He also added that his main objective was to set a great example. Vihari also highlighted that if he gives up, then the team’s collective spirit will face away.
Hanuma Vihari said, "when wickets were falling, I got an idea to try batting left-handed. Any runs scored would've mattered. My main aim was to set an example. If I give up, then the team's spirit will go down".
