Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has been constantly following Indian cricket where he analyzes Indian players’ performances. When a player performs well, he never shies away from praising him.

However, when a player goes through a rough patch, he never hesitates to take a dig at him. To be precise, Gambhir literally loves to indulge in controversies and has been doing the same for a long time now.

Meanwhile, former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli hogged the limelight after he scored a century against Sri Lanka in the first ODI at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.

Notably, it was Virat Kohli’s 45th ODI century and he drew plaudits for his terrific batting display. While the netizens praised Virat Kohli for his masterful innings, Gautam Gambhir was seemingly not impressed.

Virat Kohli also surpassed legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s overall tally of most centuries scored against Sri Lanka in One-Day Internationals. The right-handed batter slammed his ninth ODI century against Sri Lanka.

While the cricket fraternity was impressed with Virat Kohli’s innings, Gautam Gambhir literally labelled Kohli as below average and also compared him to Suryakumar Yadav, who has less experience in the international circuit.

While doing the commentary in Hindi during the first ODI, Gautam Gambhir said one can’t compare Virat Kohli with Sachin Tendulkar. He even backed his statement by adding that in Sachin’s era, there weren’t five players inside the 30-yard circle, making it a point that it wasn’t that easy to score runs in Sachin Tendulkar’s era.

When Virat Kohli scored a T20I century, Gautam Gambhir praised Suryakumar Yadav for being much quicker. When Kohli chipped in with an ODI century, Gambhir went on to add stating that Sachin made centuries with complex rules in place. Apparently, one of the Twitter users trolled Gautam Gambhir on social media and you can see the tweet below.
