The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to get underway on Saturday, March 26. The retentions and player auctions have already been done and dusted with. It’s now time for action on the field. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), the 2012 and 2014 IPL champions finished as the runners-up last season and they will be looking to add one more title to their kitty in the T20 championship.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) IPL 2022 Schedule

The Knight Riders, led by Shreyas Iyer, are set to start their campaign against four-time winners and defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the opening day of the tournament at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. When these two teams met last year at the same venue, a high-scoring game took place. The Knights will also play at the DY Patil Stadium and Brabourne Stadium. On that note, here is the schedule for CSK in the group phase:

Can KKR turn their fortunes around?

In the last four seasons, the Knights used two skippers, Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan. Even as Morgan was impressive as a skipper, his form with the bat was shambolic, to say the least. Prior to the mega auction, they retained Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Venkatesh Iyer and Varun Chakravarthy.

They also appointed Shreyas Iyer as their skipper. The inclusion of Pat Cummins, Mohammad Nabi, Sam Billings and Tim Southee has also strengthened their team to a large extent.
