Chennai Super Kings ran through an outrageous campaign in the IPL 2022 season as they finished ninth on the table with four wins and ten defeats in the league stage.

This is why CSK failed to qualify for the playoffs in the last season. The yellow army kick-started their IPL 2023 campaign today as they are taking on Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Chennai Super Kings largely benefitted from the services of Ruturaj Gaikwad as the right-handed batsman took the bowling attack to the cleaners with relative ease.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was the pick of the batters for CSK as he scored a quickfire 92 off 50 balls. He composed his innings with the help of four boundaries and nine hits over the fence at a strike rate of 184.

CSK come under fire for their unimpressive batting order

The four-time IPL champions were on the receiving end for their unimpressive batting order during the tournament opener against Gujarat Titans at the world’s largest cricket stadium.

Ben Stokes, the big-money signing for Chennai Super Kings didn’t fit at the No.4 slot in the first place. Besides that, Shivam Dube at No.6 didn’t fit well either. Ben Stokes had a bad day at the office as he could score 7 off 6 balls (1 four).
